Organ virtuoso coming to NPAC

Organ virtuoso coming to NPAC
Music in Van Wert
For those who have heard and experienced a Hector Olivera concert, you completely understand when I say it is sooo much more than an organ concert. On Sunday afternoon, April 19 the Van Wert Co. Foundation Saltzgaber Music Hall walls will shake with the powerful sounds of Hector Olivera and his two touring organs.
Quotes about Olivera and his performances have been:
Hector Olivera brought the house down with a stupendous performance. From the moment the organ console rose to the stage, the audience was spellbound."
-The American Organist
"Olivera swept the audience with absolute Olympic virtuosity, and that still doesn't say it.... Hector Olivera is in a class by himself."
-Atlanta Journal
The raves continue to come in on this gifted and talented performer. What also amazes and delights audiences is his equal passion, whether performing classical or popular music. This prodigy began playing organ at the age of three in his native Buenos Aires. By the age of 12, he entered the University of Buenos Aires and by 18 had performed more than 300 concerts throughout Latin America. Soon thereafter, New York's prestigious Julliard School of Music offered him a scholarship.
People have fallen in love with Hector's passion for his music. His concerts are exciting, inspirational, amazing, and entertaining to say the least. For our concert in Van Wert on April 19, he has followers coming from New York to hear him. He has sponsored cruises and had sold out crowds. I'm sure the cruise lines just love him too!
Hector will be performing on two different organs that he will bring with him to the NPAC. One organ will display some of the great organ works ever written for classical pipe organ. The other organ will produce everything from keyboard sounds to horns, drums, strings, guitars and other sounds you will wonder where they came from. I have had the pleasure of hearing Hector at least three other times and every time I find myself leaving the performance just shaking my head.
He has performed with some of the most renown symphonies of the world and in some of the most prestigious performance halls including: Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Crystal Cathedral, Spivey Hall and Dallas's Myerson Concert Hall, just to name a few.
I know I talk a lot about upcoming artists, but this one continues to amaze me each time I hear him. Please trust me on this one. If you like anything from Bach to Ellington and John Williams to Sousa you will be glad you came to this one.
Tickets are available at the NPAC box office (419-238-6722 NPAC) or on-line at: www.npacvw.org. There are about 200 seats remaining for this upcoming concert. Don't miss this one! FINE'
